It is surrounded by ~ and filled with ~ collectibles, refurbished vintage furniture, antiques and unique finds of all kinds all at incredible prices. When you open the front door, you’ll be greeted by a gorgeous, long-haired cat named “Blessing” and areas that are beautifully decorated and filled with great merchandise.

Looking down the garden path to the front door of Descano Mercantile:
Michelle’s unmistakable touch is in this “pink” corner!
For those of you that missed it, take a look at the great article (click on the link below) reported by local newcaster, Larry Himmel, about Descanso Mercantile:
About Michelle Michelle has spent most of her spare time in the last 30 years crafting in one form or another. She held her own craft shows or participated in others, sometimes displaying her work in retail shops such as the Courtyard Cottage Shops in Alpine. Working a total of 21 years for H & H Craft & Floral and Michaels as a floral designer, creator of displays, managing and purchasing, she resigned from the work at the age of 50 and purchased the business at the little yellow house in Descanso. At that time there were seven vendors who displayed their wares. Michelle has built the business up to 25 sellers who display a wide variety of antiques (along with her own), vintage items, crafts, collectibles and gifts. Her husband (and high school sweetheart), Phil, has been a great support and might be the one ringing you up when you check out! Her two sons are supportive and can sometimes be seen at the shop moving displays or furniture. At last count, Michelle hosted 12 events during the year, bringing in people from the San Diego and other parts of the country to the small town of Descanso. Visitors will never be disappointed when they see the magic she whips up with her eye for beauty, her great prices and especially her ability to make her guests feel welcome.
