My Friend, Pete.

For those of you who don’t know him, I want to introduce you to my very talented friend, Pete Berg.
He is the creator of the beautiful logo for Blue Barn Essentials shown here:
.

He also created logos for my good friends, Phyllis Jones and Michelle Miller.

Michelle’s logo for her shop, Descanso Mercantile, looks like this:

The logo for Ivy Gate Cottage, Phyllis’ shop, looks like this:

Some friends of Blue Barn Essentials have asked about Pete and what services he is willing to provide, so I wanted to fill you in on his background, his gifts and what Berg Graphics can do for folks who need the help of a graphic artist like Pete.

Pete has always loved to draw.  He  has an extraordinary talent and has used it well during his professional career.  Born in Wyoming, raised in Southern California, and now residing in a town due north of Seattle, Pete continues to generate beautiful and innovative art to clients around the world. After graduating from Los Angeles Art Center of Design, Pete provided art direction for clients like World Vision and Azusa Pacific College. His design services were used by clients such as the Van Dusen Botanical Gardens, San Diego Zoo, Southern California Redevelopment, and Riverside County Transportation Commission, among others. (You’re probably asking yourself, “Why would such an artistic big shot spend time on a logo for Laurie?” The answer is that Pete is an extremely humble and kind human being — oh yeah, he’s also my sister’s good friend!!!!!)

Maui Food Bank Card

After launching his own company, Berg Graphics, he worked for Dick Clark Productions, John Denver, Donny Osmond, KYMS Radio, the Freedom Bowl, Nautilus, Kaiser Permanente, Gospel Light Publications, Open Doors with Brother Andrew, Children’s Hospital, Maui Food Bank and more. In Pete’s own words ~ “I’ve grown to love the process of design and its creation… logos that summarize a product or organization; designs that inspire a response; elements that make the viewer smile, marvel, think.

(Pete was certainly able to capture what I wanted but couldn’t verbalize in my logo…)

In a return to his original love of illustration, Pete has added creating drawn images for children’s books to his list of talents. In Pete’s own words,  “I especially love conceptualizing and bringing stories for children (of all ages!) to life. Stories are an invitation to journey down new and unexplored paths…and can sometimes give the reader a new perspective on earlier experiences.”

Firedance illustration

Pete has a growing library of children’s books for which he has provided glorious illustrations.   His first book as both author and illustrator is almost complete. “Oscar Is” is a creation for Pete’s first grandchild, Oscar, one of his greatest joys in life.

Services that Pete offers include logo design, and associated business services (stationary, cards, brochures). Pete has helped with the design portion for my blog and web presence. And as you can see he is an accomplished illustrator for virtually any kind of project.
